Clip Speed

Adjusting the clip speed changes the playback speed of a video clip. To view the clip speed changes, you need to produce the video.

Do not change the speed of a video clip if the video clip includes audio. Changing the clip speed can cause the audio to become out-of-sync with the video.

To adjust the clip speed

  1. Right-click on a clip and select Clip Speed.
  2. The Clip Speed dialog box appears. Enter the percentage of the original clip speed to speed up or slow down playback.
  3. Click OK.

To Preview the Clip Speed Changes

If the clip speed changes occur in the first 30 seconds on the Timeline, you can preview the changes by completing the following:

  1. Select the Produce video as option from the Task List.
  2. Select the desired production options.
  3. In the lower left corner of the Production Wizard, choose Preview button > Preview Current Settings.

Camtasia Studio produces a thirty second preview of the video with the clip speed changes.

If the clip speed changes occur after the first 30 seconds, you need to produce the video to preview the changes. Try producing a selection of the video.

  1. Drag the seek bar to select an area on the Timeline.
  2. Select File > Produce Selection As.
  3. Select the desired production options.
  4. Click Finish.
