TechSmith Expands Work with Educational Community Through CollegeBuys.org Partnership

TechSmith Working with Nation's Largest Scholastic Purchasing Consortium to Make Software More Accessible for Millions of College and K-12 Students, Faculty

EAST LANSING, Michigan - January 14, 2002 - TechSmith Corp., the leading provider of screen capture technology for more than a decade, today announced an agreement with the Higher Education Cooperative Purchasing Consortium - commonly known as CollegeBuys.org - to make TechSmith's SnagIt and Camtasia software packages available to faculty and students at the consortium's thousands of member institutions.

Schools participating in CollegeBuys.org include more than 1,100 community colleges and 700 four-year colleges and universities. These schools represent three-quarters of all students enrolled in higher education in the United States. In addition, all public elementary schools and high schools in California are affiliated with CollegeBuys.org. The agreement announced today enables students and faculty at participating schools to purchase TechSmith software through CollegeBuys.org at discounted rates.

SnagIt is the world's most popular software for screen capture and image manipulation with more than 3.5 million users. SnagIt's unsurpassed ease of use, robust feature set, and Internet-ready functionality make it ideal for teachers and researchers who wish to use visual imagery to communicate complex subject matter.

Camtasia is the industry-leading screen-recording tool. It enables users to record on-screen activity, such as cursor movements, Web surfing, keystrokes and dialog boxes. The recordings can be saved in standard movie formats, or broadcast via the Internet. This makes Camtasia particularly useful for distance learning, computer-based instruction, and training videos.
